Picture from the Cross-Sabers in Baghdad Iraq

Hello all,

Thought I would send a few pictures that I took here in Baghdad. Some awesome architecture here or used to be. This city is pretty much destroyed. One of the pics shows the new US Embassy being built, 10+ Tower Cranes Wow! Looks like a job for a joint effort by:

KNUTSON/RYAN/VREDENBURG/BRUCE'S/FISCHER/MICKS SIDE JOBS INC.

Well everything is fine, the last info I got though was that my platoon is going three different ways. All out in the An-Bar provenance. I will be with one squad and my LT will be with another and my senior squad ldr will be on his own with his squad. There are three squads that make up my platoon. 12 men per squad. We will be helping the local Police in the area/city that we inherit. Not a bad mission at all.

Mail still can be sent to the last Address that's on the Blog. When we move again I will send out the next one, mail will follow or be forwarded to us were every we go now.

That's all for now, Love to everyone!!

Updated Address

Hello Everyone -

Okay…let’s try this one more time. They have changed Rod’s address again so please be patient while they work out all the kinks. The following email is from Rod’s commander so please send mail to the address provided.

Thanks!!
Carol

All,This is our address for HQ. The address that I gave out a little bit ago will still work, but this is the one you should use. It will expedite the mail process. If mail comes here for other platoons, we will make sure it gets to them. The Soldiers from the line platoons should be calling/e-mailing home soon with their addresses, if they haven't already. 3rd Platoon will be leaving to their locations within a couple of weeks. Families can definetly mail stuff to here and we will get it to them. Once they get established they will get a mailing address to their specific locations. I will mail you soon with updates.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!!

All is well, Still here in Baghdad!? Myself and one of my squads are going to be here just a few more days. To see off the rest of our equipment by truck freight. Well all I can say is we were within 200 yards of the bld that a bit of history happened in the other day. They used one of his own gallows, wow! It was kinda tense around here that night and morning of.

FINALLY AN ADDRESS!!

That will be the address for now. I may be there a month or ten?? Our mission has change twice since I've been here. Oh well, it keeps us on our toes. Christmas was OK here. No snow! Thats a first for me. Thanks for all of the kind words of encouragement on Christmas day when I called. The Internet has been down here for the last week here. I hope it is a little more stable out west.

It's now 22:30 (10:30pm for you civilians) new years eve night. I plan to sleep the New Year in. Not to much to do late around here after dark. I will send an email out for any specific items to be sent for the guys after I see what the conditions are like at our new quarters in a few days. No Worries!! BYE FOR NOW, LOVE YOU ALL! Pass this e-mail on to Mom please, Rod.
