It's a small world after all....

While Bob and Pat were in DC visiting the Clan for Thanksgiving, they went into the city to site see and imagine who they bump into? Are you from the Bronx?

In Iraq

Hello,
I'm Finally here, Iraq. We got into Camp Stryker today, Going to Somewhere else tomorrow. This base is big. So far the conditions haven't been to bad. I hope that stays that way.

Some of the guys are really scared and nervous. I just want to get to where we are going to be for the duration and finally unpack the bags! We been living out of the ruck sacks for a while now. I sounds like the living conditions in the area of where we are going are not the best.

Here is an address for were we will be for a short time. Maybe through Christmas? Try not to send anything of significant value. Most likely it will be forwarded to me from this location if we move to the next location. This address is good for anyone else in my same Company/Platoon. (For Now)

SFC Vredenburg Rod (or any other soldiers name) Co B 3-194 CAB APO AE 09348

I will keep you all informed of any further address updates as soon as I know.

Take care, Happy Holidays!
Love to all,
ROD.

In Kuwait

Hello all, Yes, We are in the DESERT! We are about to the end of our stay here in Kuwait. Heading North in a few days. The bad news is the Company is getting split up and the platoons are going all different directions. Don't really know where for sure yet. Couldn't say if I knew anyway. The guys are adjusting well, a little of the desert crud going around the Company. The good news is that our stay here is on the countdown! 352 days left!! The chow hall here is excellent! Sorry Carol, I'm not getting to trim just yet! We are still sleeping in HUGE tent on cots, around 70 Joes per tent. Not to bad though. weather is a little strange here, 40's in the morning and 70-80's during the day. The cold feels allot colder than the temp reads. It's the beginning of the rainy season now, so far we've got 1/100 of an inch since I've been here. WOW! I'm will try to send some pictures soon. I have some nice pics of Carol and I when she came to see me for my four day pass while we were in Washingt on DC and Phili. Don't have much time now computers here are on a limited time use. That's all for now, all is well. Have a pleasant Holiday season!

Good Bye for now,

ROD
